400 Sandwiches
Last fall while attending Food Blog Forum in Atlanta, I met a fellow food blogger and professional recipe developer from Birmingham named Alison Lewis. You know how sometimes you meet a new person and you just seem to click? That’s how I was with her– we hit it off immediately.
During the course of our conversations, I discovered that she does cooking segments on Channel 5’s Talk of the Town from time to time, so we promised to start meeting up for drinks when she came to Nashville. Unfortunately, our schedules haven’t allowed us to connect a single time she’s been here over the last few months, but we did get to catch up a bit at Food Blog South in Birmingham back in January.
I was excited to hear that her very first internationally published cookbook would be hitting the shelves this spring. Alison has been developing recipes professionally for over 17 years, so as you can imagine, she has built quite a library of recipes. So large a library, in fact, that this book includes 400 recipes! You’re probably thinking – “is it even possible to come up with 400 sandwiches?”, and the answer is yes. There is a sandwich for every time of the day and every occasion. You’ll find appetizers, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as regional favorites and exotic sandwiches from foreign lands.
For a peek at what’s in the book, you can watch Alison this Friday on Talk of the Town, where she’ll demonstrate some Mother’s Day appropriate sandwiches. She’s hoping to include a tomato, herb and feta crostini, some tea sandwiches with cream cheese & olives as well as a classic pimiento, and a decadent chocolate turtle panini. Tune in to get the recipes and “meet” my friend Alison!
Thanks so much for your support and post! Hope to see you soon!
Hrm, I need to buy a cucumber for sandwiches. Thanks for the reminder!
