Bar No. 308

I seriously thought about keeping this gem to myself a little while longer, but because I like you all so much, I’m spilling the beans. Heck, I enjoyed myself so thoroughly there a couple of weeks ago that I should be shouting it from the rooftops!

Months ago, when my pal Chris alerted me that Nashville would soon be getting what sounded like a very cool new bar, I was hopeful. The sweet backstory of the owners and how it came to be (you MUST read this!) made me look forward to the opening day even more. With cocktails reminiscent of a couple of my other favorite libation lounges in town, I could easily spend hours hanging there, working my way through the menu. Truth be told, I’ve already tried to put a bit of a dent in it…..

Mickey Finn – gin, cardamom, grapefruit, maple syrup
(can’t imagine going there and not ordering at least one of these! so good)

French 75- cava, gin, lemon, sugar, bitters

Suffering Bastard- gin, whiskey, ginger, orange, bitters

Pisco Sour- pisco, lemon, egg whites, sugar

Divanzo – tequila, cucumber, serrano chile

Monster Kazoo- whiskey, sherry, pineapple, walnut

The “Leap of Faith”
1- you choose the spirit
2- you choose fresh juice or spirited version
3- Leave the rest to them

Resulting in a delightful, surprising concoction!

So has anyone else visited No. 308 yet? If so, what are your stand-out drinks? If you haven’t ventured in, please take my advice and do so soon- I’m quite sure you’ll leave there with a big smile on your face just as I did!
