Beer Tastings +

I’m often pointing you to wine tastings around town, but today I’ve got some really awesome beer tastings for you!

The first one is tomorrow at Amerigo on West End and will feature Yuengling Lager, Moretti, Dogfish Head, and Yazoo Summer Brew. All those sound really great, but what truly got my attention is what they’ll be paired up with — PIZZA!

Seems they’ve got some new pizzas on the menu that they want to show off, so in addition to some ice cold beers, you can sample all of these beauties: Quatro Fromaggi, Grilled Portobello & Brie, Salmon & Dill, Hot Chicken, Skirt Steak & Caramelized Onion, and Tennessee Prosciutto. Um, YUM!!

The next tasting is next week at one of my neighborhood faves, Fido. You might recall my glowing reviews of the wine classes I’ve taken there over the past year. (If not, then you really must click on those links right now and take a gander). So it seems this little gathering will be more than a mere tasting, instead you might actually learn a few things in addition to getting your drink on.

While discussing the origins, styles, and culture of beers and beer making, you’ll be sipping brews from foreign places like Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Belgium and Germany. Don’t worry, you’ll also have some food to help soak up the suds….and there’s no doubt in my mind that it will be excellent as always!
