Otaku South EXTRA LARGE 2 – a giveaway!
If you saw my post on Monday with the round up of food & drink events happening here in Nashville this month, then you saw Otaku South’s EXTRA LARGE in the mix. What I didn’t share in that post was this awesome lineup of participating chefs:
Sarah Gavigan/ Otaku South NASHVILLE
Shigetoshi Nakamura/ Sun Noodle & Ramen Lab NEW YORK
Edward Lee/ Milkwood & 610 Magnolia LOUISVILLE
Yuji Haraguchi/ Yuji Ramen NEW YORK
Mihoko Obuni/ Mibo Loves Ramen ATLANTA
Jessica Benefield/ Two Ten Jack NASHVILLE
Akiko Moorman/Gohan Society NEW YORK
Seriously, I’m super stoked about this group! How in the world do I decide which bowl of ramen to eat??? Hmmm, I guess the smartest plan would be to round up 6 friends so the 7 of us can get one bowl from each and pass around….

Best Ramen ever was when we were in grad school, we threw a Ramen noodle formal party. The dress was formal, and all the dishes were made from Ramen noodles. We also had desserts like Ho Hos and Ding Dongs!
I used to go out for ramen in NYC, but since I didn’t eat pork, my options were limited. I’ve had Otaku South’s ramen and it’s pretty awesome, so I’m going to go ahead and call it the best yet! I’d love to try someone else’s!
I like Otaku South on fb, too!
The best ramen I’ve had Sakuramen in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington DC. They also have amazing pork buns.

best ramen I’ve had was at a bar in Tokyo – just outside the temples at Akiabara. It was a dive of a place, no one spoke english, and I spoke no japanese, but it was so good.
Best ramen i’ve had was at the noodle shop on the military base that my dad was stationed at in Iwakuni, Japan. Kintaro Ramen in Vancouver is pretty solid too.
I haven’t had any Ramen yet… I need to jump on the bandwagon.
The most recent was the opening of Two Ten Jack. Looking forward to trying out more style of ramen.

I most want to try Sarah Gavigan’s ramen of Otaku South – I was pregnant when her pop up dinners were going on and I couldn’t go due the egg-issue and I love eggs in my dishes! So excited about Extra Large!

Otaku hot chicken!
I am a serious ethnic foodie and have been following Otaku South on FB since they arrived and have enjoyed Sarah’s ramen many times. I plan to attend this event regardless of winning (but it would be great). I attended last year and have about 40 members of my ethnic dining group coming with me this time around.
I am super excited that Chef Edward Lee will be cooking. I had the pleasure of trying his food in Louisville a couple years ago while on a road trip to see Anthony Bourdain and my chef crush Eric Ripert.
Check “What the Pho!” out on Meetup. I have been running the food circuit with my members for almost 6 years. I just started following you on Twitter but have been loving your blog for a while. Keep it up!
