Leave me a comment with a fantastic gift idea! It can be for a male, female, young or old. It can be creative or practical, something you own yourself or something you’d personally love to receive. If possible, please share a link to the item so I can see exactly what it is!
That’s the only mandatory part for entry, so be sure to do that. You can also increase your chances to win with bonus entries. Note- you must leave a separate comment for each:
- On Twitter, follow me (@betheats), tweet the following and come back here to tell me you did so: Kick off December by winning a Calphalon panini grill from @betheats! http://bit.ly/sZgCiH
- “Like” Eat. Drink. Smile. on Facebook, then come back here and tell me you did so. If you already “like” me, just say so! Please leave your first name and last initial so it can be verified.
Contest ends on Monday, December 5th at Noon CST. Once the winner is chosen, I’ll contact them via email and will post it here on the blog. If the winner doesn’t respond within 48 hours, I’ll be forced to choose another, so be sure to check your email!

Saw these super cute pillows in red envelope catalog. Can personalize with family names OR have ones with dogs, etc. Nice gift for home or office. Something they’ll remember…
Love your column. Found it mentioned in another blog and just recently started following. Was excited to see you live in Nashville (like me)
If you included a link, it didn’t show up, but I think I found the ones you mean. Is this them? http://www.redenvelope.com/personalized-pillows-rppls
Such a great gift idea! And welcome to my little blog :-)

Can I say this gift would be fantastic for a friend? 2 of my friends come over for playdates and when those run long I put sandwich bread and deli meat in the panini press and they claim that I am so fancy. I would deliver this to them. For me, I’m getting the iPod shuffle to help me get back into running.
A subscription to a magazine. It’s like getting a gift per month all year round!

I’m giving my family a photo book of our xmas vacation that we took last year! Lots of work, but it will be fun to look back on those memories!

Great giveaway, Beth! I’m obsessing over Mixbook.com right now. You can make custom scrapbooks/coffee table books online. Good way to organize your pictures from the holidays and new additions to the family ;) They have gift cards for the site.

I’m making a gift basket of Trader Joe’s goodies for a family who lives in a city where they do not have one yet.
This might sound crazy, but I had this idea that if I were pregnant, I would do this. Get a small Christmas stocking, put his name on it, fill it with a letter about your anticipation, etc. Hang it. Each year, do the same, telling him things you want him to know. This is not shopping, except for the cool stocking. I love personalized beautiful Christmas Stockings.
I think homemade baked goods in a pretty little basket would make the perfect Christmas gift…to give or receive.

I’m struggling to buy presents this year too! I know my fiance wants a dehydrator to make his own jerky, etc. He’s a huge hunting fanatic!
Also, I tweeted! I want that press so much!
For local friends and family, how about a gift certificate to Fresh Harvest along with one of their sturdy canvas grocery bags? I know that’s something I would love! Useful AND healthy! http://www.freshharvest.locallygrown.net/
PS — I already like you on FB!
For women, how fun are these monogrammed clogs? You can customize them in tons of different ways — color, monogram, even choose the heel base. Best of all, this is a local business! http://www.thepinkgiraffe.net/store/WsDefault.asp?Cat=MonogrammedShoesandClogs&Sub=89&isThumbs=Yes&Thumbs=200
One more thing, for your list, I hope someone gets you some of the yummy Hanna Andersson sleep sacks and cotton sleepers. :) They are so soft and they launder like a dream. http://www.hannaandersson.com/giftSet.asp?ne=y&cm_re=holiday%202011-_-Mouse%20Over%20Navigation-_-Baby%20Newborn%20Essentials
I liked your page on fb! I am giving homemade gifts again this year since it was a massive hit last time. I did baked goods, so this year I am doing my own spice blends and rubs, hot cocoa mix, plus salt and sugar versions of a kitchen hand scrub, to go with the kitchen theme.
Oops–meant to do two entries. I liked your page on fb!
A beer making kit for the guy in your life who still like to experiment..and enjoys a good IPA
I think a gift basket with the ingredients to make your favorite, their favorite, or a classic cocktail would be thoughtful and fun! You could include linen cocktail napkins or other barware accessories, too.
Of course, Ten Thousand villages is a great way to give a gift and give back, as is supporting some of our great local retailers (including the new Parnassus bookstore!).
I have to admit I would pass this gift on to my brother-in-law as he has been wanting a panini maker for years! We could use one around my house, too, but I just know it would make by bro-in-law so happy.
I am getting this for my bf’s mother, I think it’s a great gift for a cook! It’s for lasagna, but I think you can even use it for different loaves. I think it’s so cool so you can make a few different options at once!

my two ideas:
If someone has had a special event in the past year (baby’s birth, wedding, anniversary, bought a house, anything with a special date) you take a pretty calendar page like these:
http://linneadesign.com/_calendars/index.php
Circle or put a heart around the special date and have the page framed. We have two in our living room from our wedding and the day we got engaged as affordable and meaningful art!
Also LOVE these iPhone or camera phone lenses for $49:

I think a great gift for any girly-girl this Christmas would be the SEPHORA by OPI Glimmer Wonderland Eighteen Piece Mini Nail Colour Set!
