Truffle Milkshake and a Contest!
My younger cousins and I used to make what we called our “creations”. With an ice cream and milk base, essentially they were milkshakes. I wouldn’t say they were good milkshakes, or that an outsider would even recognize them as a milkshake, but they were certainly creative. That’s because we took a plethora of ingredients, many of which had no business being in a sweet drink, and blended them all together. Never the same mixture twice, it was always interesting, if not always palatable.
When I read about the Below Zero Hero™ recipe contest that Dean Foods is hosting, I immediately thought of those carefree days of summer and how much fun we had whipping up our concoctions.
With a $10,000 grand prize up for grabs, you better believe that I’m already hard at work perfecting a creation that is going to knock everyone’s socks off. Think you’ve got what it takes to create a winner? All you have to do is visit www.BelowZeroHero.com through August 15th and enter your recipe.
A panel of culinary judges will pick the top 10 recipes nationally based on overall appeal, originality and taste. The recipes will be posted online on August 25th for consumers to test and vote for their favorites, and winners will be announced in early September. The first place winner will receive $10,000, second place $3,000 and third place $1,000.
I know there are many Nutella fans out there, so I thought I’d help inspire you by sharing the recipe below that Dean Foods sent to me. Mmmm…so yummy!
