Cost: $250/person (click here to purchase)

You guys, May (otherwise known as my birthday month) is just around the corner! To kick off my favorite month of the year, I’ll be dining with some of Nashville’s best chefs at the Generous Helpings Chefs’ Dinner next Tuesday. Like, seriously, this is a dream lineup. Not only do I think they all make amazing food, but I truly adore many of them on a personal level too. (a couple of them I’ve never met but I’m sure once I do meet them, I’ll think they’re awesome too because I’ve been told so by trusted sources)

In case you’re not familiar with the Chefs’ Dinner, it takes place a few days before the main Generous Helpings event (more on that below) and it’s a one-of-a-kind dining experience where multiple chefs are responsible for different courses. And all the money goes for a great cause – Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee! This year’s lineup includes:

Maneet Chauhan, Chauhan Ale & Masala House
Trey Cioccia, The Farm House
John Lasater, Hattie B’s
Nick Pellegrino, Mangia Nashville
Rebekah Turshen, City House
Bryan Lee Weaver, Butcher & Bee
Lisa White, Marsh House

The price of a Chefs’ Dinner ticket also includes admission (a $50 value) to the main event at City Winery on Thursday, May 11th, where you can enjoy tastings from 30 of Nashville’s favorite restaurants. Only a few tickets remain, so get yours before they’re gone!

Generous Helpings Main Event

Thursday, May 11th, 2017
6 – 9 pm

City Winery
609 Lafayette St
Nashville, TN 37203

Cost: $50/person in advance here

(note: this event WILL sell out, so don’t wait until the last minute to buy your tickets!)

I’m not going to name any names, but a while back I attended a tasting event that was a BIG disappointment. I had free tickets, so I didn’t bother complaining. But, as I walked around the event underwhelmed by the food choices and frustrated with the long lines, I felt really bad for the people that actually paid for tickets.

That kind of experience is what makes me want to shout from the rooftops about tasting events that are so well done, so full of delicious food and drinks, and so worth the money. I promise you that Generous Helpings is worth every cent of the $50 you will spend on the ticket!

For as long as I’ve lived in Nashville, it has been one of my favorite events of the year. I love it so much that for the past two years, I’ve been volunteering on the planning committee! As you guys know, between my demanding full time job, my family, and this blog (and all related activities), I don’t have a whole lot of extra hours in my week, so I hope it really tells you something that I choose to spend free time helping Second Harvest with this event.

I’m so excited that we’ve brought on some awesome new participants this year — even a couple of spots that haven’t even opened yet! There are still more restaurants to be announced in the next few days, but check out the list so far:

Amerigo Italian Restaurant
Barcelona Wine Bar
Christie Cookies
City Winery
Eighth & Roast
etc.
