Sinema Market Menu
It’s no secret that one of my favorite restaurants in town is Sinema. I love their dinner, I love their brunch, I love their staircase, I love their cocktails, I love their lounge. Heck, I even love the ladies room. They’re always introducing something new and interesting, so there’s never a dull moment.
Which leads me to why I’m here today. Sinema’s Chef Dale Levitski has partnered with several Tennessee farmers and purveyors to utilize the bounty of seasonal ingredients with a weekly Market Menu, a 3-course fixed meal offered at one price ($39-45 per person depending on the menu). Wine pairings are also available for an additional $20 per person. The menus that have been served so far look delicious. See for yourself:
Menu 1
1st: Ceviche – salmon, fried okra, tomatoes, peaches, wasabi creme fraiche
2nd: Duck- smoked and seared duck breast, herbed farro, sweet pea smash, ras el hanout
3rd: Peaches & Cream Puff – peaches, blueberries, white chocolate, chantilly
Menu 2
1st: Skirt Steak Salad – Skirt Steak, Tomatoes, Peaches, Hibiscus Vinaigrette, Asian Pickle, Radish
2nd: Shrimp Primavera – Shrimp Scampi, Ramp Pesto, Zucchini & Squash Ribbons, Asparagus, Green & White Eggplant, Oven Goat Cheese
3rd: Sweet Potato S’mores – Sweet Potato Pie, Toasted Marshmallows, Milk Chocolate, Cherries
Farms and purveyors used in the Market Menu include: Fresh & Local Nashville, Delvin Farms, Hill and Hollow Farms, Bloomsbury Farms, Fisher Orchards, The Country Barn, Hopkins Farm, Hughes Farm, Green Door Gourmet, Greener Roots, CC Gardens and Tomato Tomato.
This special runs in Sinema’s dining room every Monday – Thursday, so be sure to get in there one weeknight soon to check it out!
Punch & Swizzle
Did I mention I love their cocktails and their lounge? I thought so.
In addition to the Market Menu, Sinema has also just introduced Punch & Swizzle! Running every Wednesday all summer, open to close, Punch & Swizzle features $6 cocktails with seasonal flavors ideal for escaping the brutal heat and humidity of our Southern summer.
Not just a cute name for the series, punch and swizzle are actually types of drinks that both predate the cocktail. A little history lesson for you: “Swizzle is an island cocktail that originated in the Caribbean, made popular by the famous Trader Vic. The ingredients are combined with an abundance of crushed ice and blended with a swizzle stick. Punches were created by British settlers in the 17th century as they found exotic ingredients during their travels, like rum, citrus and spices.” Pretty cool, huh?
Here’s a sample Punch & Swizzle menu for you:
Punch of the Day – A fresh, seasonal surprise
Revere the Punch – Plantation Rum, Olorosso Sherry, House Falernum, Tropical Rooibos Tea, Lime
Rock Island Park Swizzle – Eldorado 5, Grilled Pineapple, Mint, Lime, House Falernum Absinthe, Peychauds Bitters
The Old Man And The Sea – Broker’s Gin, Eldorado 12, Lime, 5 Spice Island Syrup, Spiced Cherry Bitters
Kissed From a Rose – Gosling Black Seal, Hibiscus, Lemon, Ginger Syrup, Pimento Bitters

It’s so hard to choose! I would use the gift card for the Market Menu — but I would probably end up going for Happy Hour before hand and enjoying the Punch & Swizzle too! : )

This is my entry! What would I do with the gift card? Go on a date with my husband, of course! We just had a baby, and haven’t been out of the house on a date since way before he was born. I would do the Market Menu and tear up the steak (nursing mama, here)! So…pick me!
I liked it on fb! Also, I don’t have a twitter, but does following Sinema on instagram count?

I’d use it for Punch and Swizzle with friends, of course! I am so intrigued by pimento bitters in Kiss From a Rose (and two points for the Seal pun), but The Old Man and the Sea is right up my alley. I’ve only been to Sinema once, and this would be a great excuse to go back!
