NFM Night Market This Friday
I’m very excited to be heading to Providence, Rhode Island to meet up with my sister for the weekend, where we’ll eat our way through the city, which is said to have some of the best food in the country. It should go without saying, I’ll fill you in on all the details when I’m back.
While I’m so looking forward to the trip, I’m completely bummed that I’m missing this month’s Night Market at the Nashville Farmers’ Market because this line-up looks to be the best one yet:
AM@FM -only open a couple of weeks, this gourmet grab & go is brought to us by Nashville’s own Top Chef, Arnold Myint. On my last visit, I snagged a curried couscous, cucumber salad, foccaccia with cippolinis, and Ham/Apple/White Cheddar sandwich– all delicious. A word of advice: if there is Apricot Mustard to be purchased, I highly suggest you snag a jar!
Butter Cake Babe’s Coffee Cafe – one of the newer NFM shops that offers a variety of flavors of gooey butter cakes (similar to a chess square), coffee and espresso drinks (both hot and cold), and bagels with gourmet cream cheese spreads.
Green Asia – I can’t wait to try this new Chinese/Japanese cuisine offered by Chef Jackie Liu of Sake (my go-to sushi joint in Cool Springs)! If you sample, please report back.
The Bang Candy Company – serving delightful syrups at their prosecco bar. Try the celery flavor. Trust me.
Bathtub Gin – are these girls new to the market? If not, I’m not sure how I’ve overlooked before. With fruit spreads in yummy sounding flavors like chardonnay-strawberry, coconut rum-pineapple & TN whiskey tomato, I will be hunting them down on my next visit.
The Bloomy Rind – in addition to all of the fabulous cheeses Kathleen always has on hand, rumor has it that she’ll also have some Porter Road Butcher pork pate. A little sneak peek of sorts to what we can look forward to when this new butcher opens for business.
Fleur de Lis Flavors – boozeballs. Enough said.
Ms. Cock-a-Doodles – I used to say I didn’t like chicken salad. I can never make that blanket statement again because I have become addicted to the Buffalo Blue Cheese and Curry Cranberry Pecan chicken salads from Ms. Cock-a-Doodles. Try it and you’ll see why.
And…my favorite bag lady will be a special guest! The Green Bag Lady will be handing out her FREE handmade reusable bags, so be sure to pick one up and tell her I sent you :-)
This is just the tip of the iceberg. For a complete listing of vendors in attendance, check out the NFM FB page. Have fun!
Thanks for the shout out Beth, have fun on your trip, I’ll miss seeing you at Night Market! :)
You’re welcome! Wish I could be there, but know you guys will have a great time!
Three things:
1) Thanks as always for the love! Yep, Porter Rd Butcher pate on the menu.
2) Bathtub Gin did their first NM last month and will be at NFM one or two Saturdays/month. When they aren’t around, I’m thrilled to offer up their delish concoctions!
3) There’s a cheese shop/restaurant I heart in Providence in case you can squeeze it in: http://www.farmsteadinc.com/lalaiterie/
Cheers,
Kathleen (aka The Bloomy Rind)
Awesome, thanks for all the info! La Laiterie will for sure be a stop for me this weekend :-)
We always do! :)
Hey Beth – I spent 4 years in the Federal Hill section of Providence while I was in college. You must try Bob and Timmy’s pizza off of Atwells Avenue (bobandtimmys.com). It was my first experience with grilled pizza and I have never had anything that comes close since.
Really, just about anything on Atwells Avenue is amazing. :) Have fun! I miss Providence a ton.
Beth, I have never been to Night Market, despite hearing such great things about it. My friend who owns Fleur de Lis always is there. Maybe I need to volunteer to work with her so that I actually make it!
Thanks for the great list of inspiration.
Hope you have a great weekend.
You definitely need to go to the next one if you can! They are so much fun- and great for the entire family!
This post makes me really, really miss Nashville because I loved the Farmer’s Market there… and all it had to offer, including Night Market. I wish that the Farmer’s Market here in Baton Rouge were more active and offered something like this.
Have fun on your vacation!
