There are a some exciting new additions to the festival this year:
- ‘Meet Your Maker’ Dinner on Friday night – Your chance to dine with many of the cheesemakers. Chef Tony Galzin (Flyte, Sycamore Nashville) will prepare 4 cheese-centric courses to be shared family style. Wine pairings included. Limited to 70 tickets.
- On Saturday, there will be a Butter Making station. Butter making!!! This will be led by Paula Butler of Standing Stone Farms, who will also be selling home cheesemaking kits.
- Judy Schad of Capriole, considered one of the matriarchs of American artisan cheesemaking, will be joining the festival!
- The VIP ticket is a bit different this year. There is now a VIP area with seating, a separate bar, and extra cheese samples, and as noted above, VIPs have the opportunity to take a cheesemaking class!
I’m pumped about the new location and all of these additions to the festival. My cheese-lovin’ self can’t wait for the event and I hope to see many of you there!
My awesome friend Kathleen of The Bloomy Rind (the gal who is responsible for creating and organizing this fantastic event) was kind enough to offer up a pair of tickets to the festival for one of my lucky readers!

Congratulations to the winner!

I love ALL cheese! Growing up in Wisconsin, I’m a cheesehead at heart. If I had to pick, some sort of rosemary or balsamic infused cheese always gets me. Cheddar, too!
I tweeted, and follow on twitter!
I like Southern Artisan Cheese Festival on Facebook :)

Never met a cheese I didn’t like… pretty sure its the one food I couldnt live without! #morecheeseplease
Twitter – check! Facebook – check!
I LOVE feta cheese! I could eat it every day. Swiss is another one at the top of my list, and of course classic cheddar!
I also liked Southern Artisan Cheese Festival on Facebook!
Best cheese I’ve ever eaten was at a restaurant called Osteria Marco in Denver, CO located in the gorgeous Larimer Square. The housemade Capra Ricotta is a organic goat milk ricotta and it melts in your mouth like soft butter. I’ve never had anything like it in my life. It’s been almost 3 years and I still think about it often =)
My current favorite cheese is a smoked goat’s milk feta from Little Seed Farm in Lebanon, TN. We joined a cheese share and get different goat cheese every week! We would love a chance to go tot he festival!
I like you on facebook as well!
My best cheese food memory is from when my husband and I were traveling in Barcelona, Spain. We were in a small shop called Quimet y Quimet having tapas and beer. I noticed the person behind the counter kept scooping something out of this large circluar thing. I asked if it was queso and he nodded yes. It was so runny that it had to be scooped with a spoon. My hubby doesn’t like stinky cheese and wouldn’t kiss me for the rest of the afternoon after I ate it, but it was so fabulous and worth it!!
I already “like” the Southern Artisan Cheese Festival on Facebook, but I don’t tweet! :)
The pimento goat cheese by Noble Spring Dairy might be my favorite!
I love Brie. its good with crackers or with fruit. baked is even better!
Follow on twitter and tweeted

When I think about cheese, I think about mac & cheese. When I think about mac & cheese, I think about Fido’s green chili mac & cheese which is SO GOOD!!! I crave it often and my husband has tried to re-create it at home with no luck!!! If anyone has any good green chili mac & cheese recipes, I’m all ears! :)
I tweeted! :)
I followed on Facebook!
I love stinky cheeses & love one that’s like a combo of blue & Brie. Don’t know the name though. Another great one is Robusto from whole foods! Cheese is pretty much my favorite food!
I’ve been crazy about goat cheese lately! We mix it with cranberries and shaved almonds… Mmmmm!
I liked the festival on Facebook. I went the first year, it was awesome!
At the moment I’m currently obsessed with Blue’s. Thanks to the Bohemian (sp?) from their store! Picked it up at PRB for a wine tasting and am addicted. Also got my MIL addicted who didn’t think she liked blue until then!
I already like them on FB, since forever and a day ago when they were at NFM.
I don’t tweet but OMG I’m soo tickled they gave you the opportunity for this! Such nice ladies
Two years ago, I found myself developing a love affair with cheese after a visit to Paris. Those cheese shops are amazing! Although most everything seemed expensive in France, the amount and quality of cheese you can get there beats anything I’ve found here in the States. I didn’t really consider myself a major cheese lover before that trip, but now I can say I am!
I’m following you and I tweeted! https://twitter.com/AyeAyeOnTheRun/status/375356146959126528
My favorite is goat cheese. I just love it on about anything!!! My friend and I just had goat cheese crostinis topped with a homemade tomato jam. It was delicious!!!
I liked the cheese festival on Facebook!
Swiss cheese is my favorite but I love all cheeses! When I was little I called Swiss cheese mouse cheese because I thought mouses made all the holes :)
Picking a favorite cheese is hard! I’d have to go with aged gouda for the moment – so flippin’ delicious. And pairs well with both savory flavors and sweet flavors. YUM! Great giveaway!
Thats a tough one. I love a good Brie and a delicious glass of red wine.
Blue cheese would definitely have to be in my top three. There are so many delicious cheeses out there and attending the Southern Artisan Cheese Festival would be an excellent way to broaden any cheese lovers palate.
I’m already following you on Twitter . . . tweeted Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese :)

I am in love with homemade goat cheese. Belle Chevre out of Alabama sells a wonderful goat cheese making kit, by the way!
Love all cheese- but my favorite right now it the Blueberry Stilton at Mafioza’s!
Already liked Southern Artisan Chesse Festival on facebook :)
I love feta cheese especially on a spinach salad.
I just love goat cheese. I first had it at Fido on the salad with strawberries, pecans, balsamic vinaigrette and I added steak. Perfect!
I already like SACF on FB!
My favorite cheese is a toss up between Cypress Grove’s Midnight Moon goat milk cheese and Purple Haze! Midnight moon makes a phenomenal grilled cheese, with some Crofters organic blood orange spread on rustic bread.
Hello! My family owns and operates a small goat dairy in Howard County, Maryland. I have been obsessed with goat cheese, just simple chevre, all my life, so it was a dream come true when we first started getting milk from our does. There is nothing more rewarding then seeing your food come full circle: we raised and bred our own animals, delivered the kids each season, milked each doe twice a day, bottle fed our babies, then raised those kids to be milking does when they turn 2 years old. With the milk, we make cheese (obviously, first things first here…), soap, lip balm and lotion. Our neighbors love to come over and help milk or make cheese, and I love sharing our surplus of milk. Goat cheese is not just my favorite cheese but also one of my favorite things about our farm. :) (I also liked the page on facebook!)
Just tweeted it! :-)
i love epoisses!it is a stinky wine bathed gem!! and i liked southern artisan cheese on facebook
My favorite cheese in general is brie, but I had a really good reblochon recently from Sequatchie Cove Farm called the Dancing Fern. It has the most beautiful pillow-y, quilted rind.
I’ve already liked the Southern Artisan Cheese Fest on Facebook.
I just followed betheats on twitter and tweeted what you said! I’m kittehsurprise.
May be a little boring but I love Manchengo – especially in the strangest dishes. Truthfully I don’t think I have a met a cheese that I didn’t like!
I would like to win these tickets not for myself but for my couple friends who are getting married in Dec and don’t have the extra $ for tickets and I know they would LOVE to go!
Oh and i already liked the Festival on fb :-)
My favorite cheese is Brie! I love to have it with crackers and an apricot or peach spread. I discovered it at a New Years party, where my friend baked it in crescent dough with apricot preserves. I love how the cheese balances the sweetness of the preserves. Plus, I love the taste of the cheese by itself! A slice of Brie is the perfect snack!
