There are a some exciting new additions to the festival this year:
- ‘Meet Your Maker’ Dinner on Friday night – Your chance to dine with many of the cheesemakers. Chef Tony Galzin (Flyte, Sycamore Nashville) will prepare 4 cheese-centric courses to be shared family style. Wine pairings included. Limited to 70 tickets.
- On Saturday, there will be a Butter Making station. Butter making!!! This will be led by Paula Butler of Standing Stone Farms, who will also be selling home cheesemaking kits.
- Judy Schad of Capriole, considered one of the matriarchs of American artisan cheesemaking, will be joining the festival!
- The VIP ticket is a bit different this year. There is now a VIP area with seating, a separate bar, and extra cheese samples, and as noted above, VIPs have the opportunity to take a cheesemaking class!
I’m pumped about the new location and all of these additions to the festival. My cheese-lovin’ self can’t wait for the event and I hope to see many of you there!
My awesome friend Kathleen of The Bloomy Rind (the gal who is responsible for creating and organizing this fantastic event) was kind enough to offer up a pair of tickets to the festival for one of my lucky readers!

Congratulations to the winner!

My husband and I lived in Milwaukee for 7 years and experienced the amazing 40 year old cheddar discovered in a walk in cooler by accident by Wisconsin Cheese Mart. Needless to say this was a once in a lifetime experience and the crystalized cheddar was heavenly! We paid way too much for cheese but it was worth every penny!
I tweeted and Liked Southern Artisan Cheese Fest!
The Cabot clothbound cheddar. I first had it at an event at Yazoo and it’s so crumbly, and crunchy and delicious.

Gabriel Coulet Roquefort. I first had it at an international soccer team’s potluck dinner. The French man who played forward was almost an hour late. When he got there he announced, “I have brought the cheese!” He had a huge chunk of GC- it must have cost him $30, but I stood in the corner and ate it all night. It’s like blue cheese flavored butter :)
anything noble springs

Parmigiano reggiano from Florence, Italy is heaven on earth. I was abroad last semester and miss it so much!
Liked on FB as well! Thanks :)
Favorite cheese – Noble Springs goat cheese. On everything.
I tweeted also.
i like all the cheeses. my most recent favorite cheese was a gift from Pastoral in Chicago – an aged Gouda that had those crispy slivers throughout.
i like them on FB!
hm….. favorite cheese would have to be St. Andre Triple Cream. It replaced Boucherone as my sister and my favorite cheese. We first bought it in Whole Foods at their cheese counter and never looked back. We periodically do “cheese dinners” where we just buy a bunch of cheeses and crackers and go to town on them and St. Andre is always in the lineup. :)
I went to the Southern Artisan Cheese Fest last year but don’t have the money to go again this year. It would be amazing to win tickets. thank you so much for offering this opportunity for your readers.
