Gloria’s Korean Kitchen
My newest favorite lunch spot, Gloria’s Korean Kitchen, opened way back in November, but for some crazy reason, I hadn’t heard a peep about it until about a month ago. How this place was a secret for that long is completely baffling to me. Since my first visit four weeks ago, I’ve had lunch there four times, and I’ve been talking about it every chance I get. How have others kept so quiet?!
Spicy Pork Ssam (Lettuce Wraps)
These will be my standard lunch at Gloria’s from here until eternity. You see, I have this thing for sauces and the wraps come with three delightful flavors, so that makes me very, very happy.
Bibimbap
Bibimbap is a Korean specialty made up of a protein (chicken, bulgogi, spicy pork or tofu), rice, sauteed vegetables and an egg cooked sunny side up. Served with a red pepper sauce and a cucumber/garlic infused soy sauce, it’s quite tasty! As you know, I’m not a big fan of runny eggs, so I didn’t actually order this myself. The photo is of a friend’s dish, which I tasted and have nothing but good things to say– runny egg and all ;-)
Kimchee
Oh, and I must not forget to mention that everything here is made from scratch, even the Kimchee!
Sweet Vinegar Daikon Radish
These crunchy sweet radishes topped with pickled cucumbers are a necessity if you get your food extra spicy like I do. They are the key to helping cool down your palate!
Although I can only personally vouch for lunch, I’ve heard rave reviews from friends that have been for dinner, so I’m looking forward to trying it very soon. Whether you’re already a fan of Korean food or have never tried it, you really must drop by Gloria’s some time. I promise it’ll be quite a treat!

I have to to there! I haven’t had good Korean food in so long! May have to make a trip on a Monday, when I have time to get down there and I’m already in the area!
I’ll meet you there for lunch on Monday if you want to go!
this looks/sounds amazing! i’m going to be in the Brentwood/Franklin area on Monday for a client event, so i’m hoping my schedule allows for a lunch stop here.
I wanted to ask you about great spots to eat while I’m visiting Nashville. Now I know a lunch spot I will definitely try; Love Korean food!
Just tweeted you a few other Nashville suggestions. Since I know you’ll be around the Franklin/Cool Springs area for your event at Viking, I also suggest Saffire, which is in the Factory at Franklin. It’s excellent!
Does this partly satisfy the void left by Peter Chinn’s? If so, I need to try it (assuming that there’re plenty of tofu dishes).
yes! I still miss the tacos, but I love the lettuce wraps, so I’m happy ;-)
And they do have lots of tofu options, so you’re good to go. Gloria is so sweet too, it’s hard not to love the place.
This looks and sounds so delicious. Your pictures are great!
So excited to read about this! I pretty much stalk Nashville restaurant openings and am always on the lookout for somewhere new and fun to try, but I hadn’t heard about this place either! I’m so glad you found it and are sharing it with us. Thanks for the great tip – as always!!
I had to show my husband this post, he loves Korean food while I’ve never had it. So we are going to try to go for dinner Sun nite. Do you know if they serve beer or wine or allow us to bring our own for a corkage fee?
Actually, I saw something regarding that, but now I can’t find it! I don’t think they have their license yet, and someone asked about bringing in wine, and they said they don’t have a license for that either…but that could have all changed by now. I’m not sure when that exchange was written, so maybe they’ve gotten it since?
Sorry, I know that isn’t much help!
I have been meaning to try this place for some time. And, I’m going to get those pork wraps. Looks great.
Will have to try! And I drive past this every day, don’t know why I didn’t realize it was there.
I MUST try those lettuce wraps…!
Oh these dishes look great! Makes me really wish I worked out in the Bwood/Cool Springs area again. Maybe I will have to take a little adventure out there soon…
Been there twice and it is great. I had the bibimbap yesterday and it was a lot of food. The Beef Grill is equally good and their Miso Soup hits the spot.
Thank you for the review! I am actually one of the cooks at glorias and I just wanted to comment and straighten out a couple of the questions on here. Unfortunately, we are closed on mondays, so that probably wouldn’t be one of the more optimal times to come. As far as the alcohol, we do not have a wine/liquor license so we cannot sell or allow one to bring in their own bottle, however we do have a beer permit! Domestics are yuengling, miller light, and miller genuine draft. Imports are stella artois, asahi, and tsing tao.
Thank you again for your review, I hope this straightens out a few questions! Look forward to seeing y’all in the kitchen soon!
Hi Larry! Thanks so much for dropping by and providing that info!!
I drive past there every day but I’ve never noticed Gloria’s- I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled next time I’m on Carother’s and stop by some time for sure!
Does your website have a contact page? I’m having trouble locating it but, I’d like to shoot you an e-mail. I’ve got some ideas for your blog you might be interested in hearing. Either way, great website and I look forward to seeing it improve over time.
