The Gift that Keeps on Giving
Ready or not, December is here! If any of you are like me, you still have a lot of shopping left to do, so for the next couple of weeks I’ll try to help you out a little bit by providing some gift ideas, just like I did last year. Go back in time and see these suggestions for The Cook, The Baker, and The Drink Maker in your life….or here for a homemade baked good idea…or check out these kitchen gadgets that I adore.
Today’s featured item is something that I personally purchase for myself every fall, and use on a regular basis all year long. It’s definitely a gift that keeps on giving and I’d be thrilled if someone got me another one for Christmas!
The Nashville City Saver book is chock FULL of excellent money-saving deals from many Nashville area restaurants as well as attractions and retail outlets. So far in the 8 weeks that I’ve had my copy in hand, I’ve used on average at least one coupon a week! Some of my favorite deals are Holland House, Sopapilla’s, The Cocoa Tree, Smiling Elephant, The Wild Cow, Pizza Perfect…seriously, the list goes on and on! For a complete listing of participating merchants, click here.
Now the good news- for the month of December, City Saver is running a special promotion on their site. Instead of paying the normal $25 for just one book, you get 2 books for the price of one! You know what that means –you can give one as a gift and keep one for yourself if you want! I didn’t even mind paying the full amount for mine because it pays for itself so quickly, but this kind of deal is really just too good to pass up.
That was the good news. Now for the great news. As a gift to my readers, I’m giving one away! Keep it for yourself, or use it as a gift, it’s your choice.
To enter the contest, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me which coupon (or coupons) you would be most excited to use. This is the only step you are required to do, but if you want to increase your chances, you can also:
- Tweet the following: Enter to win a @CitySaverNash book from @betheats! http://bit.ly/e4aFkE
- Go to the City Saver Facebook page and post this message on the wall: “I heard about this on Eat.Drink.Smile!”
- “Like” Eat.Drink.Smile. on Facebook (if you already “like” it, just leave a separate comment here telling me so)
The contest will close at 11:59 p.m. tomorrow night, Thursday, December 2nd and the winner will be announced Friday morning. Please be sure you use a valid email address when commenting, because I’ll contact the winner via email and they’ll have 24 hours to respond. Good luck!!

I’d probably love to use any of the great deals but this Cocoa Tree sounds very interesting….If I win, I’ll give it to my dad for Christmas….he commutes to Nashvegas for work every day and would have lots of lunches to use the deals on!
Also a new facebook fan….although i already consider you my twitter pal! Went to Bonefish last nite (Knoxville) and the Bang Bang Shrimp was killer as always! xoxo
I retweeted it too!
I’d be excited for Sweet Cece’s (I thing their Original Tart is even better then Pinkberry’s), Cocoa Tree (their Balsamic Raspberry Truffle is my favorite…oh an the peanut butter bites!), and Schlotsky’s (you can never go wrong with a turkey original!). Great giveaway!
Wow! What a great coupon book! There are sooo many that I would love to use. I would use it to try out Holland House & Gabby’s–for sure. I didn’t realize the book had so many places I already love to go!
