The Gift that Keeps on Giving
Ready or not, December is here! If any of you are like me, you still have a lot of shopping left to do, so for the next couple of weeks I’ll try to help you out a little bit by providing some gift ideas, just like I did last year. Go back in time and see these suggestions for The Cook, The Baker, and The Drink Maker in your life….or here for a homemade baked good idea…or check out these kitchen gadgets that I adore.
Today’s featured item is something that I personally purchase for myself every fall, and use on a regular basis all year long. It’s definitely a gift that keeps on giving and I’d be thrilled if someone got me another one for Christmas!
The Nashville City Saver book is chock FULL of excellent money-saving deals from many Nashville area restaurants as well as attractions and retail outlets. So far in the 8 weeks that I’ve had my copy in hand, I’ve used on average at least one coupon a week! Some of my favorite deals are Holland House, Sopapilla’s, The Cocoa Tree, Smiling Elephant, The Wild Cow, Pizza Perfect…seriously, the list goes on and on! For a complete listing of participating merchants, click here.
Now the good news- for the month of December, City Saver is running a special promotion on their site. Instead of paying the normal $25 for just one book, you get 2 books for the price of one! You know what that means –you can give one as a gift and keep one for yourself if you want! I didn’t even mind paying the full amount for mine because it pays for itself so quickly, but this kind of deal is really just too good to pass up.
That was the good news. Now for the great news. As a gift to my readers, I’m giving one away! Keep it for yourself, or use it as a gift, it’s your choice.
To enter the contest, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me which coupon (or coupons) you would be most excited to use. This is the only step you are required to do, but if you want to increase your chances, you can also:

Hey, Beth! I’d definitely be over the FiddleCakes coupon! They have fantastic gluten-free baked goods and delicious gf bread. At FiddleCakes, those with gluten intolerance can feel a little more “normal” ordering a sandwich. And it’s just an adorable place to hang out. Love it there!
See you at spin!
I’ve really got to get over to Fiddlecakes soon. One of the owners is friends w one of my good friends, so I can’t believe I haven’t been there yet!
I see a Tossed coupon! I would be most excited to use that one. Love their blackened chicken salad with avocado!

Great Giveaway! I’d be excited to eat at Maple Street Grill. Yumm.
I don’t even know what Maple Street Grill is, but maybe I need to find out!!
Love it! I’d probably use The Cocoa Tree coupon first, mmm, chocolate. :) But there are tons of restaurants there that we have yet to go to, I’d be equally excited about those.
I don’t just like you on facebook, I LOVE you on facebook. :)
Tweet, tweet!
Looking forward to using the Wild Ginger and Sopapilla’s coupons!
Wow, it’s too hard to choose. So I’ll pick one I haven’t been to yet–Smiling Elephant!
And I “like” Eat.Drink.Smile. on Facebook!
I’m excited about coupons for a couple yummy spots in my ‘hood: Holland House and Mitchell’s Deli. And I haven’t been to FiddleCakes, so that would definitely be on the list!
Tweetedededed!
Awesome deal Beth! I would love to use the Genghis Grill coupon! That place never gets old…especially with coupons! Thanks!

I didn’t realize they had chocolate classes! I need to look into that….
Erin just told me you were doing this giveaway! AWESOME! ;o)
So many coupons to choose from! I used the one I got last year like crazy. I’d definitely use the Ellendale’s one…if you haven’t tried that place out you should! It’s fantastic!
I would love to use all of them… but prob most excited for Smiling Elephant!
I’d be excited to use the FiddleCakes coupon! They’ve been on my list to try for a long time. Thanks for the giveaway!

Holland House and Smiling Elephant – yum! Also might finally get me to try out Gabbys!
Already “liked” on facebook!
There are way too many good coupons but my favorite from last year was the Gabby’s coupon and will probably be the first used this year.

Hi Beth – been following your blog for a while now. It seems that my bookmarks of Nashville food related blogs keeps growing and growing. I would tear myself away from Siam Cuisine and get over to The Smiling Elephant with my coupon.
Siam is one of my favorites too…I get take-out from there quite often. But I have to say, Smiling Elephant may have moved into my top spot when it comes to Thai!
Cheekwood, Nashville Zoo, and Cinnabon
I would love to work my way through the BBQ joints, Neely’s, Tom’s Blue Moon, and even Bar B Cutie. We rarely go to anywhere more than once, since the list of restaurants we want to try never stops growing. The book would be perfect for us because of that.
It’s a toss up between Sopapilla’s (right by my office, great salsa) and the Smiling Elephant (right by my house, AMAZING). We would use them all!
Liked you on facebook too! So fun!
I would probably like The Cocoa Tree best!
