America’s Better Sandwich Contest
Are you a master sandwich maker? If so, then it’s time to put your skills to the test and try to win $25,000! Arnold, Brownberry and Oroweat Bakeries’ 2nd annual “America’s Better Sandwich™” Contest launched a few weeks ago, so I’m just a little behind on spreading the word. Never fear though, as the entry period runs through August 23rd, so you’ve still got plenty of time for some R&D to perfect your creation!
Entrants can submit up to two (2) recipes per category using Arnold, Brownberry and Oroweat’s Whole Grain Breads or Sandwich Thins Rolls in each of the following categories:
Breakfast in Bread
All eligible recipes in the contest will be judged by a panel of experts based upon nutrition, creativity and ease of preparation. The top three (3) finalists from each sandwich category will also be posted online for public voting September 21st- October 18th, 2015 to help determine Category and Grand Prize winners.
On National Sandwich Day, November 3, 2015, the highest scoring recipes in each sandwich category will be revealed and awarded $5,000 each! In addition, the highest overall scoring sandwich will receive a $25,000 Grand Prize and the 2015 title “America’s Better Sandwich™.”

For those of you here in Nashville, you’ll probably recognize Sinema’s Chef Dale Levitski in that list. I was able to get my hands on the recipe for his delicious creation, Sandwich Thin Breakfast Tacos, so I’m sharing it with you today.
Sandwich Thin Breakfast Tacos
4 Servings. Recipe by Chef Dale Levitski.
2 Arnold® Sandwich Thins® Rolls 100% Whole Wheat roll
1/2 fresh avocado, smashed
1 tsp. olive oil
4 large eggs
6 oz. roasted chicken, pulled/chopped
1/8 c. red onion, thinly sliced
1/4 tomato, diced
1 tbsp. fresh cilantro, chopped
1/2 c. Romaine lettuce, shredded
1 radish, thinly sliced
Heat olive oil in nonstick pan over medium-low heat. Sauté onion, chicken, tomatoes in skillet until warmed. Crack four eggs in a separate bowl and beat yolks with fork or spoon, but do not scramble. Add eggs to pan and gently stir until cooked to desired temperature.
Separate and lightly toast Sandwich Thins® rolls. Evenly distribute smashed avocado on each side. Then, place egg and chicken mixture over avocado and garnish with lettuce and radishes.
For every eligible recipe submitted during the entry period, and for every vote cast during the voting period (September 21, 2015 – October 18, 2015), Arnold, Brownberry and Oroweat will donate a loaf of bread to its official charitable partner Feeding America®, the leading domestic hunger-relief organization.
