Food, Wine and Design ~ A Giveaway!
In yesterday’s November calendar of food events round up, I shared some details for Nashville Lifestyles’ upcoming Food, Wine and Design dinners. Well, I’m back today to give you a few more specifics on menus + a chance to win spots at the event!

“Feast of the Fish”
Tuesday, November 12th
Chefs: Matt Lackey of Flyte World Dining & Wine and Karl Worley of Biscuit Love
We don’t have the menu yet for this one, but what we do know is that Karl and Matt will be pulling items out of a giant fish tank. Say what???
I’m not exactly sure how that will work and what it means, but definitely could get interesting!
“A Trip to Spain”
Wednesday, November 13th
Chefs: Deb Paquette of Etch and Steven Robillo of Amerigo
the Menu:
smoked goats milk bacalao, almond fried octopus, mediterranean mussels, pea alioli, olives, radish
little Gem and escarole salad, prawn, romesco, garlic crisps, chili
Red chili duck and plum tart, Jerez fig sauce, chorizo frites, guava sweet potato, safron hazelnuts
paprika pork tenderloin, beluga lentils, Benton bacon, green bean, iberico ham, Marcona almond relish
+
a special surprise dessert

Ole! I would choose “A Trip to Spain.” First, I began to drool as I read the menu items. It’s a definite sign. Things get blurry for me when it involves octopus, prawns, figs and Marcano almonds. Secondly, I have always wanted to go to Spain. There is something about the country that draws me to it. Perhaps it is my heritage as I have distant relatives from Spain, or a past life. I’d like to think I was a Spanish queen, but perhaps I was a Flamenco dancing chef? Things to ponder. Nevertheless, as I “liked” your Facebook page I was reminded once again what a beautiful thing food is, and how it shapes where you come from and where you want to go. Adios!
My fiance and I would love the opportunity to go on Tuesday, November 12th for a couple of reasons…
1. We love Flyte! We just got engaged a couple of weeks ago and Travis (the sommelier at Flyte) helped me pick out the perfect bottle of wine for our engagement celebration. It was fun to have him help me plan the engagement.
2. We are closing on our first house the day before, Nov. 11th. It would be a great way to celebrate owning our first home!

While the Spanish dinner sounds amazing, I like the element to f surprise and would chose the fish dinner. The idea of not knowing the menu is intrigued and excites my taste buds! I am a lover of all meals with fish, so this plated meal would be right up my alley!

I would love to enjoy A Trip to Spain- when I was 21, I took my first trip to Spain and fell in love with the cuisine (and red wine). I also love Chef Deb Paquette!

“A Taste of Spain,” because one of the chefs is a childhood friend but I’ve yet to try his culinary creations! And because Benton’s bacon will be involved. (& I am a fan on Facebook).

A Trip To Spain Please!!!! Duck, plums, figs & tenderloin w BB and marcona almonds as well as a special dessert (which we all know is going to be the BEST), excuse me while I clean myself.
Plus it’s on a Wednesday and that would make it one of the tastiest Hump Days ever.
