Food Ramblings
My brain is really fried this week so putting together words that form coherent sentences is difficult. I’ve got a million things on my mind, so at times like these, I make lists. Lists of things to do mostly, but today I made a list of all the places and things I’ve been eating the past couple of weeks. For some reason that sort of thing relaxes me.
salmon sashimi is like buttah!
Cha Chah –
the smoked vinegar brussels sprouts are to die for
Las Paletas
couldn’t choose just one, so I got two!
Strawberries & Cream and Mint Chocolate
Rumba
lots and lots of Pacific Pearls…
PM
serious burger craving satisfied
Bread and Company
favorite salad, the Montrachet
The Dog of Nashville
one of my husband’s favorite warm weather spots
The Patterson House – twice ;-)
Spring menu has launched- go check it out!
Nashville Farmers’ Market –
I’ve been eating yummy cheese all week from The Bloomy Rind
(my friend Kathleen‘s new endeavor)
Suzy Wong’s House of Yum

55 South in Franklin –
I don’t think I’ve mentioned their Bananas Foster Bread Pudding before have I?? Freaking AMAZING!
So that’s where I’ve been the last few days. How about you? Anything really awesome you want to share with me? C’mon, don’t be shy. Your food ramblings will be a nice break from the chaos that is my life at the moment!

I took my mom to happy hour at ChaChah and we had 2 pitchers of the sangria! So good.
Went to 12 South Taproom last night and had some awesome sandwiches.
We had a Sunday night run to Bellagio for the calzones and cheese bread sticks. Oh it's so good and so much food!
After a long training workout for the 1/2 marathon and a nap, I devoured 2 sushi rolls and a wrap at PM! Delicious! Poor waiter thought I was ordering for the two of us and started to walk away before I caught him so the BF could put in his order. 4 hour training sessions require lots of calories to be replaced. :)
I love that bread pudding.
OK, I made my own Banas Foster Bread Pudding & had no clue a restaurant around here made it! I bet mine is completely different though!!
I also had Batter'd & Fried on Tuesday! Great place!
i had dinner at watermark last night. i ordered the dayboat scallops with a warm bacon vinaigrette, wilted frisee and sun-dried tomato mashed potatoes. it was heavenly, the scallops were like butter. also had one of their seasonal cocktails, the rose spritzer that was delicious. it was their house rose, st. germain, soda & lemon, so refreshing!
Kelly- too funny about your large order. I've done that before too!
Ryanne- I would be happy to taste test your Bananas Foster Bread Pudding and let you know how it compares. I'm sure ulikabbq would do so happily as well ;-)
Mende- that dinner sounds amazing & if it had been me, I could almost guarantee I would have ordered the same thing. I love scallops, and that rose spritzer is now on my list to try very soon!
I'll definitely help partake in the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding!!
Last night we went to the wine tasting at Saffire. 4 wines with small bites. It was so good, almost an entire meal. My favorites were the cucumber salad/tuna tartare starter and the chocolate with "black pearls" (tapioca) dessert. Of course we stayed for a full dinner as well. I had the crabcake salad and the BF had "the best cheeseburger he's ever had."
I wrote out a recipe for my bread pudding on my facebook. I may make a few tweeks since I have only made the recipe a couple times. I have a tendency to think of recipes in my head & then implement them later & hope the recipes are good… usually it is!! I will gladly email you the recipe or whatever…=)
The best meals I still have ever had were in South Africa!! Love that Peri- Peri!!
Have fun in China! I look forward to reading about it!
