There are a some exciting new additions to the festival this year:

  • ‘Meet Your Maker’ Dinner on Friday night – Your chance to dine with many of the cheesemakers. Chef Tony Galzin (Flyte, Sycamore Nashville) will prepare 4 cheese-centric courses to be shared family style. Wine pairings included. Limited to 70 tickets.
  • On Saturday, there will be a Butter Making station. Butter making!!!  This will be led by Paula Butler of Standing Stone Farms, who will also be selling home cheesemaking kits.
  • Judy Schad of Capriole, considered one of the matriarchs of American artisan cheesemaking, will be joining the festival!
  • The VIP ticket is a bit different this year. There is now a VIP area with seating, a separate bar, and extra cheese samples, and as noted above, VIPs have the opportunity to take a cheesemaking class!

I’m pumped about the new location and all of these additions to the festival. My cheese-lovin’ self can’t wait for the event and I hope to see many of you there!

My awesome friend Kathleen of The Bloomy Rind (the gal who is responsible for creating and organizing this fantastic event) was kind enough to offer up a pair of tickets to the festival for one of my lucky readers!

All you have to do is this:

Mandatory

1. Leave a comment telling me about your favorite cheese. A story, a recipe, where you discovered it, whether its stinky or subtle… it doesn’t matter what you tell me, just tell me something!

Optional

For up to 2 additional entries, you can do either or both of the following. Note: You must leave a separate comment for each optional entry.

2.  Follow me on Twitter (@betheats) and tweet “Cheese. Cheese. More Cheese! Win tickets to the Southern Artisan Cheese Festival from @betheats! http://bit.ly/15DmGFB” then leave a comment telling me you’ve done so.

3.  Like the Southern Artisan Cheese Festival on Facebook and come back and tell me you did so (or just tell me you already do if that’s the case!)

Contest ends on Friday, September 6th at 12 NOON CDT. Once the winner is chosen, I’ll make contact via email and post the names here on the blog. You must respond within 48 hours or I’ll be forced to choose another, so be sure to check your email!
