Walk 100 Miles for Food Trucks!
Okay, so that title might be a little misleading– you don’t exactly have to walk 100 miles to get to the food trucks….
The “Walk 100 Miles” wellness initiative begun by Mayor Karl Dean a few months ago has been a huge success in encouraging Nashville’s residents to take advantage of our many beautiful parks, trails, and greenways. Now it’s time to congratulate all those who participated with a big finale celebration!
Saturday, July 9th
There are 2 events that you can take advantage of:
Kickoff 8-mile trek
Time: 8 am
Location: starting point, Wave Country
Finale Party
Time: 5 – 8 pm
Location: Public Square Park
As part of the party, all of the local food trucks I’ve featured above have put together special menu offerings, which I’m sure will be absolutely delicious! While the food is what always makes or breaks a party for yours truly, I’m sure there are some people that care about other aspects of the event as well, and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the offerings.
In addition to a free concert by country music superstar JoDee Messina and American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle, there will also be a kids’ zone with bounce houses, photo booths and face painting, an interactive sports area, hands-on garden section and food preparation demos from Whole Foods featuring healthy, delicious recipes. Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday to me!

Does that mean one’s got to walk the eight miles before joining the event at five?
No, it is not necessary to walk in the morning. Anyone can come to the party that night!
Fun! Nashville gets cooler every day. ;)
Very cool event! Thanks for sharing!
