An Anniversary and Beautiful Things…

.

Today is my 2-year wedding anniversary, so I’d like to take this opportunity to say how incredibly thankful I am for my tall, dark, handsome, smart, and outrageously witty husband. We did our official celebrating this weekend, and I received an awesome gift that I’m anxious to tell you about…but first I must learn how to use it ;-)  Once I get the hang of it, then I’ll definitely share with you because I think it could be a very useful tool for many!

So how does someone like me choose to celebrate an anniversary? Well, I’ll tell ya. We started with dinner at Capitol Grille, where my husband’s pork chop was decidedly the stand-out dish, although my chocolate cobbler (the chef’s secret family recipe) was very near perfection, and definitely the icing on the cake of a very delicious meal. After that, we cozied up to the bar at The Patterson House where we spent the remainder of our evening sampling from the new fall drink menu. (Tip: try the Good Ol’ Buoy the next time you go!)

I should also mention that we stopped by Virago for one cocktail before TPH. You see, Virago holds a special place in our hearts, because it’s the location of our first “official” date in 2003. It was fun to reminisce and take one last good look around. Yes, I said last. I’m pretty certain that was probably the final time we’ll sit at that bar together, because very soon they’ll be moving into the much anticipated new location in the Gulch. And as much as I will miss the old restaurant, I have to say, the new space is going to blow it away! The views from the rooftop patio are incredible, and the dining areas are probably 3 x’s the size of the current location.

How do I know these things? Well, it just so happens that last week I got a sneak peek of the new digs when I attended the Nashville Lifestyles’ 25 Most Beautiful People party. Which leads me to my other slightly embarrassing, but definitely flattering news…I am on the list! Yes, I was nominated and chosen, and my photo appears in this month’s issue of the mag. If you don’t live in Nashville where you can actually pick up a hard copy, you can see me and the other 24 MB online here.

For those of you who have already seen it and sent me messages of congratulations, thank you soooo much! You are too kind in your words and I am so appreciative! Hugs to you all~
